Project 2/3: Model Car (Sept. and Oct.)
This is my second and third project. It is a model car of a '61 Ford Galaxy.
How I did this project: I purchased the model car kit at a local hobby store. I then soaked all the components in warm soapy water to rid of any mold releasing agents. I then had to take all the parts off of the "sprue" (plastic sheets that have parts on them) and scrape off all the mold lines, shown in the first 2 images. I then glues sections together to be painted, shown in the 4th images. Once painted I assembled all the separate pieces and made the final product.
Side note: This project was originally going to be a VW Samba Bus. However, during the spray painting process, the nozzle malfunctioned and over sprayed most of the model, all detail was destroyed and filled in with paint on the body, sand paper didn't work. (Believed to be caused by the cold temperature of the room that I was spraying in.)
