Project 6.2: Free Choice Project
1. My final project was a abstract painting. I used canvas and acrylic paint to make it. I took me about 7 hours total to make (including class time)
2. I think the strong parts of my painting are the theme and color use. I think this was done well because the design is done with a typical abstract look and the colors have many tints and shades.
3. I think I could have had some better lines in my project because the masking tape made the paint bleed through.
4. My theme was a abstract painting. I used different shapes and colors to show different areas and depth.
5. Two elements in my design that stand out are shape and color because there many complete lines that make shapes and there is many shades and tints of blue in it. (One Color)
6. Two principles in my design that stand out are contrast and unity. It has a abstract theme and there is a contrast between the shades and tints in the color blue.
7. I learned how different types of masking tape can effect your painting in different ways. Like some paints bleed thorugh, etc. I can use this in future projects to not use some types of paint because it will save time and the painting will get done faster.
8. I first built the canvas and gessoed it. Then I Painted it with spray paint. Then I masked of some areas and paints the outside space with dark blue. And last of all I masked of some of the previous masked off areas and painted those in a different tint of blue.
9. I had a few problems with painting bleeding under the tape. I fixed this by tape off new areas and changing my design. This project was completely by chance.
10. Yes this was a worthwhile project because It was a short and easy. I plan on working on all of my model kits and miniature I have collected over the past year (I always do them during the summer usually).
