Scar E. Crow
He is made out of old clothing, boat lift/hoist parts, paper, card board and wood. Also some old and broken halloween decorations.
I made his frame/base out of old boat lift/hoist parts. I attached 3 crows behind him on the metal.
The birds are made out of socks, card board, and feathers. I then attached his shoes and two wooden boards (the base for his legs)
to the metal. I made his pants out of a old t-shirt. His torso is from a broken skeleton decoration. This decoration also include arms and hands. The hands were coverd with some of my dad's old work gloves. The torso was covered with a t-shirt that had to be trimmed to fit him.
His over-coat/ cape is made out of a pair of jeans and part of a t-shirt. His cane was made out of a dowel and fake bird decoration.
His head is a styro-foam skull. It has been covered with paper mache/plaster and was painted. The glasses are made out of gag glasses with a nose. I removed the nose and covered the eyes slots with duct tape. His hat is made out of cardboard covered in cloth and paper.
It also has a red bird decoration. It doubles as a bird and a feather for the hat. Everything was put together with duct tape, hot glue, nails, and some welding.
He stand at 4' 7''. All the scarecrows were entered into a contest. This one won the award for "Most likely to scare crows away." The other two categories were: "Best use of recycled materials" and "Best Theme."
Almost everything used for this project was recycled (only thing not recycled was the adhesives).
He was "refurbished" for another art show later that school year at Waldorf College in Forest City, IA.
